I was a little nervous about this purchase, because I feared that the recipes would be for tasteless, bland foods. Not so! In the week I've had the book I have enjoyed deviled salmon eggs, crispy white radish,tuna loaf, and stuffed zucchini. Two problems keep me from giving the book 5ive stars:First, although each recipe includes the carb content, there is no indication about its appropriate stage. A newbie like me has to look up the appropriate stage before deciding whether to prepare it.Second, Most of the recipes make huge amounts of food. Although I realize that we are allowed large amountsd (no calorie counting, right?) those of us who live alone may be willing to make two servings and use one as leftovers, but four, six, or more servings is just to much.

Has comprehensive recipes to follow the Atkins diet, but some of the ingredients are hard to find depending on where you live. I had to travel to 3-4 different supermarkets for some of the stuff.

I am very excited about being on the Atkins 'Diet". I have been on other weight loss programs and no matter how much weight I lost I still had high cholesterol and triglycerides. I was thrilled to discover that controlling my carbs was the key to lowering my bad blood levels as well as losing weight. In two weeks I have lost 13 Lbs. and I feel great. The diet cookbook has been wonderful, all of the recipes I have tried were delicious! Good food makes it easy to stay happy while knowing you're getting healthy at the same time. The cookbook also has a recap of the three stages of the 'Diet' as well as a basic food carb count section to refer to. Very handy and easy to follow. I would recommend it to anyone interested in really being successful in losing weight and getting healthy.

I bought the book as we were both flirting with the idea of the Adkins low carb diet but weren't actually sure if the info we were reading on the Net was correct. After reading about Dr. Adkins research the detailed diet and nutrition plan in the original book we decided to go with it. The cookbook has such delicious recipes you aren't aware you're dieting and the pounds just melt away. We are both within 30 pounds of our goal! And we've never felt better.

Nice basic cookbook for those of us trying to follow a low-carb lifestyle.

Great book, but hard to stick to.
